GOALPOST
Woolaroc Sentinel
This is a portrait of Goalpost, an inhabitant of Woolaroc, the fantastic cowboy world of oilman, Frank Phillips, outside Bartlesville, in Northeastern Oklahoma. It’s a fascinating museum and wildlife refuge that is home to a number of exotic animals you’d more likely find on the African savannah. Goalpost is one of the less exotic creatures living on those tall grass prairie grounds. I was quite impressed by his elegance, so I honored him with this painting.
Acrylic on canvas, 16” x 20” , 2006, Collection of Teresa Rendon
